Lewis Carroll, whose real name was Charles Dodgson, taught mathematics at Oxford University and wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for a real little girl called Alice Liddell. Later he wrote Through the Looking-Glass, and the two Alice stories are among the most famous books ever written for children.
